Chief Deputy Anthony Harris of the Boone County Sheriff's Office is ready to take on Sheriff.
On Wednesday, February 17, 2021, Colonel Anthony Harris, Chief Deputy of the Boone County Sheriff's Office officially announced he will be running for county Sheriff in 2022.
"Today I begin my journey of the next chapter in my life by announcing publicly that I am running to be your next Boone County Sheriff."
Colonel Harris' official announcement follows:
For the past 26 years I have proudly served the citizens of Boone County as a member of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. I began my career in 1995 and quickly worked my way up through the ranks as a Merit Deputy, Sergeant, Captain, and for the past six years I have had their privilege to serve as the Chief Deputy for Sheriff Mike Nielsen, currently holding the rank of Colonel.
Today I begin my journey of the next chapter in my life by announcing publicly that I am running to be your next Boone County Sheriff. In July of 2019 I officially submitted my paperwork to run for the office of Boone County Sheriff.
As the Chief Deputy of the Sheriff’s Office, I currently oversee every Division in the Sheriff’s Office and have had the opportunity to work with amazing people every day. Our county has faced and will continue to face many challenges with the rapid growth we are experiencing as one of the fastest growing counties in Indiana. However, I know that together we ALL can be part of the solution to address these challenges head on. I would be honored if you would join my team and help me face these issues by supporting me as your Sheriff in the 2022 election.
Please stand by for more to come as we announce specific issues facing our county, upcoming campaign events, and strategies that will help us continue the services that each of you have come to know and deserve from your Sheriff’s Office.
With Respect and gratitude,
Colonel Tony Harris
